June 25th, 2008 8:30 am My comments posted to the NY TIMES today in response to their asking for feedback: I admire Maj Gen Robert Caslen for admitting that he believes in GOD and for encouraging others to also. The only reason the US has any power is because of GOD. It is written, 'blessed is the nation whose GOD is THE LORD." Psalms 33:12a. Furthermore, The First Amendment gives all citizens in the US the liberty of the worship of GOD, and for the Naval Academy recruits [ a mere hand ful of five or so] to attempt to take away the First Amendment liberties of a man because he rose to the top ranks, is a violation of his civil liberties. Does a person in the US have to forsake GOD to succeed? I don't think so, but I know that the atheists and haters of GOD try to create a hostile environment for those who love GOD. It is a situation JESUS foretold when HE said those who hate HIM will also hate the followers of HIM; but HE said HE OVERCOMES in John 16:33. I also know from first-hand experience as a prolife Christian Registered Nurse that those who kill for pay [abortionists] have tried the same tactics of attempting to force from careers those who love GOD. It is always wrong to persecute those who believe in GOD and the Bible says GOD HIMSELF avenges the persecuted in HIS time and in HIS way. Should the US allow the heathens to make the rules, or the believers? Should the US be an atheist nation? I pray that never happens! Also, perhaps the better solution for the Naval Academy is not to accept heathens into military service in the first place, since they are the kind that would rape, torture, mutilate, kill without conscience. That gives any military a bad name. It is the laws of GOD, the Commandments of GOD that civilizes anyone. Also look at the events that have happened in the US in the past 10-15 years. How many helicopters and airplanes, USAF planes crashed? How many Navy ships sank? How many submarines blew up? Compare the atheist USAF stats to the Christian Navy stats and you will see that the mighty Hand of GOD is able to protect and that HE does protect HIS own. Do your homework, US government! JESUS said in Matthew 12:25-26 that a house divided or a kingdom divided against itself will not stand. [paraphrased here --2 verses, please read them.] Should the US military or any military for that matter, be a house divided, having both those who are geniunely good at heart wanting to protect the nation, the families, the property; and at the same time also having those who are on ego-trips, power-control freaks with weapons? It seems to me that the US is set on a cross-roads to decide the fate of the nation,on the world stage. The powers that are rising in the world are not atheist. The Arabic nations are not lukewarm about GOD. They are not afraid to say they believe in GOD or even to die for what they believe is a cause from GOD. They are not 'tolerant' of heathens and infidels. And I am saying that the CHRISTIAN USA must be ready, willing and able to go one:one with those who say they believe in GOD and then when it counts, chicken out. If the mighty US military cannot handle five heathens on th — gloriapoole, Denver Co 80203
